"Serrated Corridor is meant to be an outlet for me to express and understand the darkest parts of myself and my life, basically "Shadow Work" as Carl Jung put it. This album is the leaden dross culmination of several years worth of self-perpetuated stagnation and self-doubt, with this "Prelude of the Fool" marking the end of that era of my life to start something new. This project is also conceptualized as an audiomantic hypersigil, inspired by the ideas of Carl Jung, Grant Morrison, Keats Ross, Ezra Sandzer-Bell and many others in the worlds of art, music, and western occultism, especially Hermeticism, chaos magick, and esoteric alchemy.

This release portrays the first phase of alchemy, the black stage, which in Jungian terms would be the descent into the personal abyss, the confrontation with the shadow self, and traversing the feared domain of suffering and inner chaos. The title's meaning comes from the Fool card of the tarot, which is card zero and preliminary to initiation of the journey ahead. The album ends with burning which marks the beginning of the next phase, Calcination. The music itself takes inspiration from black metal, funeral doom, death industrial / power electronics and dark ambient music to evoke these themes along with aesthetics of David Lynch's Eraserhead, the Great Depression and Kansas City's decrepit industrial areas." - Luke Seidler
